Facilities and Operations
Moot Moot is held on Snake Island, overlooking the spectacular Toronto skyline.
Although Moot Moot utilizes the entire Toronto Islands for program, camping is only permitted in the designated areas on Snake Island. Participants are encouraged to enjoy the attractions available on the Toronto Islands throughout the week.

On Site Security & First Aid
24 hour security is provided on Snake Island by the Site Operations staff of Moot Moot and the Toronto Police Marine unit. First Aid is provided by the Site Operations staff with Advanced First Aid being provided by the Toronto Fire Station located on Wards Island.



Emergency Phone
Pay phones are located throughout the Toronto Islands. In an event of an Emergency, those needing to get a hold of someone at Moot Moot may call the Camp Chief at 905.512.4012.



Snake Island Curfew
All participants are required to be on Snake Island from 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM on Friday night, and 1:00 AM - 8:00 AM on Saturday night. Participants will be able to sign on and off Snake Island to use the 24 hour public washrooms located nearby.



Wrist Bands
All camp participants will be given a wrist band at registration. Wristbands must be worn at all times in order to participants in camp activities. Access to Snake Island will only be available to those wearing a wrist band.



Night Transportation
The ferry to and from the Toronto Islands does not run during the night. Participants will not be physically able to leave the Islands during this time. Site Operations staff have made arrangements for an Emergency Water Taxi service after hours.



Garbage Disposal and Site Inspections
Garbage bags will be made available from registration all weekend long. Recycling bins are located on Snake Island and at the dance. Groups must bring all garbage across the Snake Island bridge on Sunday when leaving. Site Operations staff will be available after closing to inspect sites prior to leaving camp. All groups must be off Snake Island by 1:00 PM on Sunday.



Equipment Shuttle
A shuttle is being offered on Friday and Sunday in order to take group equipment to and from the Wards Island ferry dock. All groups should plan to pack light and bring wagons and bundle buggies to transport personal equipment from the ferry dock to camp (800 m walk).

Four-wheeled freight wagons (approx. 5' x 2 1/2' x 3') can be rented at the Toronto Island Ferry Terminal on a first-come, first-served basis for a $6.00 fee plus a $20.00 refundable deposit. Deposits will be refunded provided the wagon is returned within the same day.



Special Needs
Moot Moot wants to ensure camp accessibility for all participants. Groups having members with special needs or health concerns should contact Camp Chief.



Picnic Tables
Picnic tables are available on a first come basis at the Snake Island bridge. All groups must return their tables at the end of the weekend prior to leaving camp.


Residential Areas
In order to respect the privacy of the residents of the Toronto Islands, participants are asked to stay away from the residential areas of Wards Island and Algonquin Island.



Smoking
Smoking is permitted on Snake Island and in designated areas of Snake Island and at the dance. Participants are asked not to throw cigarettes butts on the ground, but instead use the designated sand filled waste containers provided.



Camp Check in and Check out
Participants are not to arrive at camp before 5:00 PM. All groups are required to check in at registration prior to setting up camp on the Friday night. Medical forms and registration will be verified by the camp registrars prior to site setup.

All groups must be packed up and off of Snack Island by noon on Sunday. Groups must have their site inspected prior to checkout. Garbage and picnic tables should be taken across the bridge to the designated area.
